Some so-so pitches and some pretty great pitches with a terrific partner made for a great day.

SharonCommitment  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 13, 1989

Partners: John Middleton, Allen Thorstenstein. Joe Hahler & Ruth Martin in the same party, on a separate rope.

This was my 1st really LONG climb -- the day I learned the meaning of "commitment". Loved the chickenheads. Loose rock ~3/4 way up -- falling thru what we termed "Death Gulley". 11hrs-45min to summit, incl. being off route for the last technical pitch & needing to reverse selves.

mvsHuh?  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 8, 2004

"Mediocre (at best) route"?!?

The Serpentine is awesome. It'll never be the south face of Prusik Peak, it's a big mountain with plenty of rubble -- and it doesn't apologize for that! :p.

But seriously, I enjoyed it a lot anyway. I am strange though, for me, long lengths of moderate climbing makes up for a lack of clean quality pitches.
