mdostbyA very wet day
Date Climbed: Jan 23, 2009

Light rain today and tons of fog. I decided to go anyway. What a fantastic hike dispite getting drenched. My Gortex jacket kept my upper body dry but my legs and feet got soaked. I was very surprised to find as much snow as I did. I figured with the record hot temps we've been having the snow would all be gone. The last mile before reaching Ice House Saddle was all snow. I turned back just before the saddle. I only had my tennis shoes and my feet were soaked and cold. This trail is awesome! IMO it beats the hell out of the Ice House trail.

theronmoonBUGS!

I can't stand thick cloudly amounts of bugs. We camped at Comanche for one of the worst nights of my life. In the morning we were so tired that we ran out instead of going up. One other time I went a few miles in and again BUGS. Myabe it is my luck or maybe this canyon just sucks. It is though very beautfiful and remote.
