The hike that started them all!! This was my first summit and the experience took hold and changed my outlook on mountains and wilderness. Perfect weather and conditions. Beautiful valley in an awesome mountain environ.
Climbed to the summit using the "standard" route from the Montana/Idaho pass; however I spied a possible shorter and more interesting route which I plan to try next year.
Climbed from the west. Good weather. A golden eagle was perched on the summit as we approached. It dove off the east face. First time I ever saw an eagle below me. Camped at Garnet lake the night before the climb.
Camped just a few miles from trailhead (late start). Long dayhike turned into my first summit. View was incredible! Seeing the wilderness from that angle changed my life forever. Beautiful weather almost too good. Got pretty burned.
camped way below Bryan lk. on rock slabs near creek. Snowshoed from there to the lake and then to the top. Descended its S.E. ridge back to camp. Shoulda brought the skis!
