d_shorbWOW!

views of all the major ranges of Utah make this spot very special. La Sals, Henrys, Uintas, Wasatch, and the Book Cliffs. WOW Not to mention just the views into Joes and the SanPitch, Nebo, etc. Sweet

Moogie737Route-finding special  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 22, 2009

One thing for sure: descriptions of "how to get there" in the two books about Utah County highpoints are grossly out of date. No sign in Spring City, no sign pointing to South Tent Mountain. I found it by asking campers. Interesting markers on top, though.

I'll add some details on the comments section re: the road, etc. This is one of those long drive and short hike COHP trips but the views and terrain are nice.

rharrisShort Hike  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 12, 2006

Drove as close as we could, down a side road to the base of South Tent, and then bushwhacked up a steep sort of clearing toward the summit. Great views from the summit, found a large wooden cross up there. Had a nice weekend, did Monument Peak and East Mtn also.

WasatchvoyageMud and more.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 19, 2009

Got stopped in my vehicle about 4 miles from the trailhead due to a land slide on the road, adding 8 miles round trip to the hike. Started from that point, traversed the ridge from the north side on North Tent, then on to South Tent. Beautiful area, though lots of garbage and litter all over the place. The upper area, road and trail were very muddy due to melt off and lot's of rain the upper state has had. Great peak with views of Nebo, even Lone Peak way up north.

TracySlippery and wet  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Sep 1, 2008

Hiked with my 19 year-old nephew, Spencer. The rain had soaked everything and the mountain was socked in with clouds. The access road was more nerve-racking than the hike itself due to how slippery everything was. During the hike, Spencer slid down some steep slopes a couple of times. If we hadn't have marked a waypoint for where my Jeep was parked, it may have been even more of an epic adventure!

Date Climbed: Aug 29, 2008

Climbed with my wife and boy. It was my boy's first Utah HP. We saw elk and deer and millions of ATVers! We just drove to the base and walked up a gully to the summit.

I drove the side road to the base of South Tent. Bushwacked it up the side and made the top suprisingly quickly. I love the Wasatch Plateau it is awesomely beautiful! A little over an hour round trip.

weeds19Tons of Elk  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 12, 2003

We drove into the area early in the morning, and hiked an incorrect peak before it was light enough to realize our mistake. Another few minutes and we were standing on top of S. Tent and enjoying the view of the countryside. On the way down we must have seen 40 head of elk.

Yikes what a road! Still, had a good hike... followed 'Becks Ditch' to below the saddle then up to it and the summit. 2 hrs r/t. Lovely area. Overrun with ATVs.

DeanSo.Tent via No. Tent  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 7, 2005

Went in from Spring City after trying from the south and found Skyline drive to be blocked by snow. Parked west of No. Tent mountain and went over No. Tent to get to So. Tent. Great hike with Dennis Poulin.
