| The day started out pretty slow after going up the wrong side of the scree slopes, but once we toped out there, we skirted to the base pretty quickly. The last portion was fun and the views from up top were great. | |

| My daughter, age 11, and I climbed Carter Peak on Thanksgiving Day, 2007. It was an excellent hike with some desert bushwhacking and some short bits of class 3 rock. It's a pretty gnarly looking peak but doable! | ||

| short hike with some fun scrambling near the top. driving wind and rain made the descent fun, but the view into cattail canyon made up for it | |
