Snowshoe trip. Started around 9:30 and got back to the cars at 3. Lots of fun. We had to park a mile from the trailhead and while the road was packed down, the trail was fresh, lots of powder. Absolutely beautiful. Too bad the camera batteries died on top (cold) it was gorgeous. Great mountain.

Everyone says that this in an annual climb...I truly see why!! BEAUTIFUL!! Once we got up there...we spent 2 hrs just sitting at the pond. It was almost sad to leave.

Climbed via the Little Jackson Trail from Bryon Road. A great short hike over some truly stunning terrain. The views of Tumbledown and Little Jackson from Crater Pond were fantastic and even on the fourth of July there was hardly anyone there.

Climbed up here with some girl I was in love with. That didn't work out. And you don't really care, do you?

We climb the old AMC route (5.6) every fall. Leaving the car at the base of the Brook Tr., hiking west up the road, up the Loop Tr. to the base of the route, climbing it, reaching and traversing the ridge to the pond, then down, makes a wonderful alpine day- not to be missed. Terrific scenery and really good climbing make for one of the best climbs in Maine.

Went with a group of friends on the fun, enjoyable Brook Trail to celebrate the 4th. Great company and great views from the top!

In Feb of '79 turned back with frost nip in -13 temps plus a howling wind. Have since done it in the summer and it's a nice scramble.

I carried an 80-year-old woman part way down the trail, pick-a-back. I think I so scared her, that she found the strength to walk the rest of the way.

Every year Gould Academy (a boarding school in Bethel, ME) takes a day off of classes and goes for a hike. I managed to get in both the East and West peaks during the day before we had to leave.
