asaking11Bad timing.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 22, 2007

I did this one late in the evening thinking we wouldn't take too long. Ended up on top after the sun had gone down. By the time we got back to the car it was 11pm. We had a blast though, I definitely want to do it again. Great views.

Hi Dow,

Bo has this on our site, but you did the climb before he did, so it was not on the net when you wrote this up. I agree with you.. the east side is awesome. We spent the day there today.. gorgeous! :)

With Courtney. Truly beautiful area, but damn, the rock here spooks me!

*Awesome* weekend--did Keyhole Cyn after this (short and fun), then Peak 7,111/Das Boot/The Subway on Sun. Super, super enjoyable. I can't wait to go back to do some more canyoneering in the fall.

cp0915SE Face (5.6)  Sucess!
Date Climbed: May 19, 2007

With Matthew H.

4 pitches. Largely 4th-easy 5th with the occasional 5.6 or so move. Really fun, actually.

Cooled off in Keyhole Cyn (perhaps my 6th time thru) afterward.

9/23/07: Returned and did it again with Day Hiker and DB0915.

04/26/08: Did it again with Aron and DB. Afterward, we traversed east from the col and dropped into upper Keyhole - my first time through full Keyhole. A swim, nice slots and downclimbs...and a decomposing deer dripping brainmatter into a rank pool of maggots.

May '09: With Ram after romping through a very icy Echo Canyon earlier in the day.

Dow WilliamsRelaxing....  Sucess!

after a hard day on Touchstone, weather and all, back in the canyon, Ariel serves as a nice day to get your ego and energy back in order. I love these approaches on the east end of the park...the rock and wildlife are diverse
