| A very short, easy hike, with no technical climbing whatsoever needed to reach the summit. However, climbing the "chimney" itself would require real rock climbing skills and (unless you free solo) equipment. Probably an easy climb for most rock climbers, but I am not. I was with my girlfriend Sue and her son Chase, who accompanied me to a small family reunion at one of the cabins on King's Flow, where the trailhead is located. Apparently, my 80-year-old grandfather hiked to the summit the next day with my mom and my aunt! So, unless it's winter, if you're interested in climbing the chimney or spelunking near the summit, don't fear this approach. If Grandpa Russ could do it, you can. |
