A short nothing out of the ordinary hike done in the morning so to beat the heat. Met a guy on the summit who mountain biked. Also quite a few motorcrossers.
My maps weren't good enough to get it exactly, so I had to bag all three prospective bumps in the vicinity. All with small cairns, I vaguely recall. No signs or registers.
Climbed this peak via the South Skyline Trail that starts near Pineview Res. It was a slow grind up on the mountain bike, but really fun on the way down. It was a weekday morning and saw just one other rider on the trip. A light rain shower helped keep it nice and cool for the trip up also!
I had to get away for a bit, so after I finished a 12 hour shift at work, I hit this one. The switchbacks were pretty rough, don't know if it was just finishing a shift, or what, but its a nice view from the top
This was one of the first mountains I climbed after moving to Utah so that is probably why I remember it so well. I have hiked the trail from North Ogden Canyon many times. I have done the Skyline Trail from Pineview Reservoir many times. I have also scrambled up the south side and west face of Lewis Peak. Imontop is telling the truth about the catapillers, they are all over the place during spring.
