Took a wrong turn atop the initial scree field and headed up the east side of the spine to run into two bears! Backtracked and found the correct route up. Couple short technical sections where we found the fixed pins. Terrific views atop the catwalk. Where is the summit register? :-)

My first trip to the top of Dog Mountain. After taking a peak at the regular hiking trail from the summit, I was definitely made aware that Brian chooses way more exciting routes! A great day, and so thankful to be invited! :)

Karl HelserAdventure climbing...  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 4, 2006

This was a fun day. Not knowing what to expect around each corner, over each rock, under each cliff, made this truly an adventure. Definitely not your typical Dog Mountain climb...
Next time though, Gotta tag the Dog's tooth.

Brian JenkinsTaming the Dog  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 4, 2006

Climbed with Karl and Colleen. Started out as a loose hike up through copious amounts of poison oak. Hit one short technical chimney (probably by choice instead of loose scrambling to avoid it) and lots of neat (but loose) exposed scrambling. Great views of the Gorge and once we topped out, wonderful walk through flowers. Heck of a workout with a fun group.
