Snowshoeing it on this trail felt like a sauna compared to the Mill's Lake hike we took the day before. I thought I was going to freeze my bum off there -40 degrees or so. Down saved my Southern Californian butt on this trip.....for sure!

Arthur Digbeequick and easy  Sucess!

The whole hike was fogged in, so we didn't get any good views, but it was a great wildflower season (because of all that moisture).

Good way to get some views and share time spent with friends as I recovered from ACL replacement.

Nice short hike up on mostly packed snow. I was glad I decided not to bring the snowshoes up. The views were absolutely fantastic, especially of CCY!

This was supposed to be a snowshoe, but the crappy, snow-less winter we're experiencing this year meant we carried our snowshoes the whole way while hiking on packed trail.

The views from the summit are just out of this world. I was pleased with this pleasant little hike. Hacking my way up with bronchitis, however, was not pleasant. My thanks go to my many hiking partners who tolerated my coughing fits. Partners: Ed's CMC hike.

CCY didn't take as long as I thought and the weather was too nice to go home, so ran up Deer Mt real quick.

Hiked from Castle Mountain Lodge which made it about a ten mile round trip. It was a good hike with good views of Longs.

odogg0824Nice warmup hike  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 26, 2008

Hiked this the morning before a Chapin-Chiquita-Ypsilon trifecta.
This was as relaxing and enjoyable as a summit hike could be.
About an hour and a half to get the the top, great views of the Mummy Range as well as Longs peak. We hiked this one on a Saturday and were the first in the parking area at 6am.
FYI- Since horses are welcome on this trail you'll be dodging a fair amount of poo.

ParenteauCut the trail . . .  Sucess!

Hiked this mountain when I was in 7th grade on a family vacation. On the way back down me, my sister, and two friends went ahead of our parents and decided to cut the trail and somehow got lost (no one older than 15). After hiking around for 8 hours we managed to find civilization and found someone to give us a ride to the Ranger's station. It was a lot of fun in retrospect. Not for our parents though, I think we took a few years off their lives!

... kind of what I imagined. Much like a foothills timber hike, with a good view at the top. If you want something spectacular, go elsewhere. I would guess this would be a hot one mid-summer.

Did this as a snowshoe one winter - nice climb on a sunny day in the Park. I attempted on another occassion and wandered around near the summit - didn't have my GPS at the time!!
