| Staying off the ridge to the south does avoid some steeper sections. We found the shrubbery on the crest was the most annoying aspect :) How was the scramble up to the top of Chicago? | |

| This general area of the Cabinets has become a favorite. Did a three peak traverse: Saint Paul Peak then over to Rock Peak and finished with Chicago Peak on the way out. After everything that I read, got the impression that Rock Peak was only doable via Class 4 routes. Found this to be erroneous as I observed three different Class 3 routes. If you stay off the west ridge proper, the Class 4 can be avoided. | |

| Climbed with Brian H. Not sure if this ridge will even be there much longer - nasty pile lower down. Decent rock on upper ridge though. Lots of simul with several belayed pitches thrown in. Descended via the west ridge. Some 4th class on the way down. | |
