| This was probably the roughest mountain I have done due to the fact that I was not prepared at all. I have hiked much bigger, longer and technically harder peaks so I blew it off a bit. I did not get more than a couple hours of sleep and was not fed or hydrated the night before. I have done many peaks on little or no sleep but Harvard finally caught up to me. Don't underestimate this climb at all. It's long and decieving. If you are planning to do Rabbit Ridge over to Columbia then plan on a very long day. I will come back in better form to do Columbia and maybe will do the connecting ridge for redemption on this Massif. Minus the way I felt a fun route with sweet scrambling on the summit block. | |

| We set out to do Harvard and Columbia in one long push, but saw lightning in close proximity to us about 50 feet from Harvard's summit. After hurriedly scrambling the last few feet of awesome class 3 rocks, we snapped a couple shots and scampered back down. Great mountain, but waaaayyyy out there. Be forewarned, the Harvard/Columbia route would have been an extremely grueling jaunt, so I would highly recommend an overnighter...beautiful alpine campsites abound. | |
