| I had tried unsuccessfully twice before finally bagging this one - not enough time the first time, and nasty weather the second time. On my third attempt I brought reinforcements, Dean and Duane. With lots of snow on the upper slopes and with a dry though gray day, the conditions couldn't have been better. We first summitted Point 4949 just inside Mason County, then headed down the ridge for the Grays Harbor COHP. After looking around for a bit Dean spotted a cairn and register that had been left by Bob Packard. |
