| Woke up to the sun in Munich, but as we rode south on the DB, rain started to fall. It rained the entire way to the mountain, but eased up during our ascent. Yet, the clouds twirled and gathered above us on the summit and unleashed their fury for the entire trip back to the hauptbahnhof. | |

| Snowshoed up the "normal" route. Avalanche danger was a three. The summit was clouded in from the time we left the treeline and started up the summit ridge. There were also a few skiers out making the ascent. The route finding was straightforward up through the woods from the parking area in the hairpin turn at the end of the town of Walchensee. A great half-day climb and a fun time. I would go back and it provides a good early season warm up or safe alternative if the avalanche danger is high in other areas. | |
