| Same as Michael, drove the 4x4 road (FS 843) to where the SE ridge just about touches the road at a little meadow before Tollhouse and headed up from there. Great views east west and south all the way up the ridge. French Lake looks inviting. | |

| I approached from the east, climbed a chute north of Echo Lake that led to the North Ridge, then an easy scramble to the summit. Made a more direct route descending back to Catfish Lake where the van was parked. Trip Report | |

| Took off early from work and drove out here in the afternoon to do a short evening hike one Thurs--hiked around Tahoe on Fri, before heading down to Lone Pine for an ambitious loop around the Whitney area on Sat. Perfect weather and nice views, with some nice scrambling (class 3-4) if you keep to the ridge rather than dropping off as recommended in Pete's excellent notes. | |
