Fun Scramble, part of a six peak loop I did with my friend, Chris. We went up Vivian Creek to San Gorgonio, on to Jepson, East Dobbs, Dobbs, Little Charlton, & Charlton, then down via Falls Creek Trail.
We came out the South Fork Trail and went up to Dollar Lake. We then took a couloir up the north face of Charlton and then hit up Little Charlton. It was basically a bump, not much to it. Its a pretty cool summit ridge though. We went on to bag Jepson and San G. Long and tiring day made worse by lots of snow on the trail. We left at 6:45, got back at 9:30. Great day though
Great hike. Ascended Moymer Trail, hit all 9 peaks (excluding Mnt San Gorgonio and including Dobbs Peak) and descended bia Dobbs West Ridge. Check out my Trip Report.
3rd of 4 peaks that day with Ol' Walsher. Headed from Jepson straight down to Dry Lake View Saddle and right back up to Little Charlton's "summit". It doesn't feel all that lofty, since you're looking up at Charlton, Jepson and San Gorgonio, but there were nice views of the route we'd just scrambled...
Good way to scope Jepson Date Climbed: Nov 25, 2006
Another So. Cal. 10er off the list. Admitedly, not the most exciting one in the area as its nesteled between its near neighbors Charlton Peak and Jepson, however it does provide the best and closest view of the chutes on Jepson and Gorgonio.
