Date Climbed: Jul 29, 2009

I used this route today to climb Ontario,Bighorn and Cucamonga Peaks. Earlier this year I did a winter ascent of Cucamonga from the South side with Forjan and Mdostby. The South side was a death march and not as beautiful or as fun as the North side.

Hiked it with my gf and Taco. Superb Peak with sweeping views around. Clouds shrouded the Inland Empire below but made for great pictures from above. Well worth the hike.

First time up, with three Outdoors Club friends. A scorcher down below, but cool and windy from Icehouse Saddle to the peak. Trail in excellent condition. No water past Columbine Spring, at Icehouse Canyon's switchbacks. Intrigued by the copper mine on Bighorn Peak's east face. Less haze than most days this summer, meaning good views. Drought damage apparent on some of the pines, especially on the peak. Saw two rattlesnakes above Icehouse Saddle, beauties, a real treat.

Didn't see many people on this day. I was the only soul on this individual route to Cucamonga Peak. The trail itself is quick to traverse in dry conditions.
