| While driving through from CA to WA, I decided to give Brandy a try. I left my trailer in Grants Pass and headed up the Bear Camp Road. Weather was lousy with wind gusting to 40 and the snowline around 5 to 6,000. Made it to the TH with just some minor snow patches on fs 2308. Couple of inches of snow on the summit. Wind blowing too hard. I didn't try to open the register. Got back to the 3,500 foot level on the road out and found that the BLM had locked the gate on me. Drove the Peavine Road out. OR Cohp 15/36, OR P3k 3/22. | |

| Hiked up the ridge trail until the GPS said we were close to te summit, then bushwacked to the top. I'm easy to please, but this one isn't worth it unless your into CHP or prominence peaks | |

| I set out to tag this summit on a great fall day with good visibility in all directions. The main road, Forest Road #23, was undergoing some construction so I had to take a long detour up the "Peavine Grade" to get there. Very scenic and incredibly remote. I found a trailhead that got me to within a quarter mile of the summit and then went cross-country the rest of the way. | |

| I hiked this one in the snow. It was foggy, cold, and wet. This was my 2nd CoHP that I intentionally went out to hike. I did Bolivar Mtn this same day. | |

| Bob Bolton and I had climbed nearby Mt. Bolivar earlier in the day and made our way around to Brandy Peak by taking road 23 up from the Rogue River. We used our map and GPS to figure out the best place to park on FS 2308 and then just hiked up in the rain on slippery vegetation to our second rainy summit of the day. No views. The James Kim tragedy made me remember the area and reminded me that mountains are not places to be unprepared in bad weather. My condolences and sympathy go out to the Kim family for the terrible loss they suffered. | |
