| Climbed as part one of the desert round trip El Portillo, Fortaleza, Montana Blanca, El Portillo. Nice hike early in the morning with good views across the Canadas. Views turned even better later in the day when heading up to Montana Blanca. | |

| This was a nice short trail, good to warm up with after camping in the park the previous night (Oops! Did I say that?). Some decent views of the eastern coast, Sante Cruz, Canaleria and Guimar. Clouds seem to be a permanent fixture on this coast though. Saw no one all morning under blue skies. | |
