Pfeiffer75Excellent Hike  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 11, 2009

My brother-in-law and I drove the 4WD jeep road to UM Pass. The road to UM Pass was not too bad except for the occasional cow in the middle of the road and deep ruts. The pass was littered with recently cut and fallen trees. It appears that the north flank of Mt. Marvine has been open to lumber companies. The area was very deforested which made for easy routefinding to the NE boulder field. Crossed the eastern boulder field and attained the summit ridge at the south end. Some Class 3 scrambling over the minor summit ridges. Summit register and mailbox were still present. Excellent hike with plenty of solitude.

WasatchvoyageA very fun, seldon visitied summit.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 19, 2004

I approached the summit from the west flank of the mountain as my VW Jetta that I owned then would not make it to the pass. After passing several cattle stock ponds, the route soon changed to large basalt boulders, which were firmly placed and made for easy boulder hopping. Above this area just under the ridge I spotted a coyote running along the scree. Once reaching the ridge south of the summit, the approach to the peak is class 2-3 scrambling. Once reaching the summit, the last summit register entry was from June, two months prior. The views from the top give a whole new perspective of Fish Lake, and the Hightop country to the south west. This is an excellent summit for those wanting to avoid the crowds.
