wyopeakMikeforested summit view  Sucess!

I remember having to find the best view because of how forested the summit was. It was a fun hike that did not receive much traffic back in the eighties when I hiked it

grammys11Two Different Hikes  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Nov 13, 2009

6 hours from the main trailhead, or keep driving on the road for another 4 miles and a second trail turns it into a 3 hour hike. Beautiful either way.

DebEnjoyed the Snow Flurries  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Nov 13, 2009

I was super excited to finally have a day off for some local hits, and it just happened to be raining it's ass off on the drive. Had beautiful flurries in and out of the clouds on the hike. Quick trip but worth it!

First time was from saddle to east of peak. Green Canyon is a good hike too. Great rocks and views along the ridge.

Good training hike. Lots of rocks on the trail which is kind of unpleasant on the feet.

Date Climbed: May 29, 2003

Met a guy on the hike that apparently owned the peak, having climbed every thing in sight in the range. I almost apologized for my endeavor.

David Rosenberg Blah Hike  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Sep 1, 2008
I did the hike on Labor Day. There was one other party on the ridge that day. Wasn't impressed with the old road up to the ridge or much of the ridge and its views. The summit is well rounded and views are hard to come by. The bare section just before the summit had the best views.

KathyWFrom Hwy 38  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Dec 15, 2007

The gate was closed for the winter, so I parked on Hatchery Road next to Hwy 38. The closed road added about 3.5 extra miles more than I had originally anticipated. The road and the trail were 99 percent snow covered and there were no tracks for the last 1.75 miles to the peak, so I got to make them (I feel sorry for anyone who decides to follow my meandering tracks that go on and off the trail).

Some pics I took:

Cool hike, not a great view, but not a lot of people either. My dogs loved it!

Date Climbed: Feb 17, 2007

This was supposed to be a about 11mi round-trip. Not paying close attention to the trail, I probably added about 3-4mi. The route finding on the upper parts of the trail can be especially challenging when snow covered. I found myself scrambling up to some ridges a couple of times but eventually always found the 'official' route back. Last register entry was from Dec 3rd 2006.
