A very good hike indeed! Did this on "the a spur of the moment".
Did the SE ridge. Lots of lose rock in the "class 3+ section." Found a "safe route" to the top... Lots of flys at this time, and when I wanted to take a break, it kept me moving!
With Ed Philp, saw a couple other guys moving fast up the Rib, couldnt catch them and they descended east of the rib fast!
Great Day, very soft and sloggy descending down the rib.
Hiked to the ridgetop, then snowshoed the last couple hundred yards to the lookout. The weather was inverted, so wee couldn't see much of the valley while we were in sunshine on the summit. Had a little trouble finding the car in the fog.
Snow-shoed up from Spring Creek to the SE Rib- steep snow and rock- tough with snoe-shoes until the ridge where it was just deep snow and windy cold. Follow the south ridge down (easier). My first peak in 2 months (back injury). An old man (redneck) stopped at our car and questioned what we were doing there. He said they had some marijuana found growing in the area and he owned the road! (It was a public road). We told him we'd keep an eye out for them damn hippies and then I asked him if he wanted to get high.
