| The hike from Clinton reservoir to the Little Bartlett/Bartlett saddle is easy and pleasant. Yes, Bartlett Mountain bears little resemblance to its original form, but the mining has turned an otherwise boring hill walk into a rather unique outing with an exciting little finish. I'd rate the summit block 3rd class. The "summit" is now more than a tenth of a mile away from the location of the original summit. If you think the devastion on Bartlett is incredible, you ain't seen nothing yet. Its little brother, Red Mountain near Berthoud Pass, is even more impressive. Owned by the same company, more advanced underground mining techniques have created a HUGE crater where the summit used to be. | |

| Took a newbie friend up this peak for his first Colorado mountain ever. Was not very exciting until the final summit block, which I loved. Then again, I loved Thunder Pyramid & the traverse to Lightning! :P | |

| I managed to slap the true top of the summit block, but that was the freakiest 15 feet of climbing I've ever done. Not hard, just reaking of imminent death. That completes stop 2 on my 2008 Tour of Colorado's Crumbling Heaps (Little Bear, Bartlett done, Ice and Thunder Pyramid to go). | |

| ended up being a slog until the summit area. this place is falling apart and the "summit" is a rapidly changing variable. climbed up the highest pinnacle, for now, and took in the sadness which is bartlett. jamie | |

| Ascended the west face route from Clinton Reservoir with Shanahan96 and Jamie Nellis. The summit area is an interesting one. We thought the northern summit was higher at first, climbed it and realized that the little finger like tower beyond was probably a foot or two higher. We dropped below the first tower and ascended to the base of the true summit. We climbed the loose and exposed 4th class tower one at a time as there is no way to have more than two feet on this thing. In fact the true summit itself is impossible to actually stand on at this point, its basically a razor thin fin of rock. The mining in this area has not been kind to this peak! | |
