| This was a great short hike but like other posters have said--start from the southern end of the trail. And wear bug spray--in the summer it get's pretty bad. | |

| I agree packet, I hiked this trail starting south it made reaching the peak of Anthony's Nose so much sweater. | |

| I specifically hiked the short side trail off the Appalachian trail to this spot to get a view of the Bear Mountain Bridge and Hudson River. | |

| This one isn't too popular but does provide a nice overlook of the Hudson. | |

| I'd probably do this hike from the southern end of the trail if I were to do it again. From the north, you go directly to the summit and the best view of the hike. Other overlooks aren't as good. Total hiking distance was about 8 miles. | |
