| Left Tehran at 3:30 a.m. Was in the village of Kalvan around 5:30. Started the hike at 6:30. Hired a local and his mule to bring our backpacks to the summit but the backpacks proved to be too heavy for the mule. At the shelter, the local said his mule can not go any longer. We ended up carrying the heavy backpacks on our own. Were on the summit at 12:30. We then descended to the bowl between Kahar the Great & the Small and set up camp at an elevation of 3670 m on the northern slopes. |
