Dougbfrom Galena
Hiked the canyon up to Galena Peak then traversed the ridge to Little San Gorgonio. It was really bad, a big rock smashed my thumbnail, the ridge was loose and brushy. From Lil San Gorgonio I descended Camp Creek. This was in 1993.

Mountain ImpulseYucaipa Ridge  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 21, 2008

Started from Vivian Creek trailhead up a gully east of Camp Creek to reach the Yucaipa Ridge (3,000 feet of gain to get to the ridge). Summited Little San G., then on to Wilshire Mountain, Wilshire Peak, Oak Glen Peak, Cedar Mountain, Birch Mountain, and finally the long, long trek over to Allen Mountain.

Day HikerWilshire Peak Trail  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Dec 25, 2004

Had a miserable, clothes-ripping bushwhacking experience in the first half hour, just above the start at Pine Bench Road. Apparently, I did not start at the correct place or in the correct direction. After finding the trail and 4wd road, all was good. Reached the ridge west of the radio antennae and traversed east to Little San G. While the ascent was dry, on the south-facing slope, there was plenty of snow on top and on the north side of the ridge.

A nice Remembrance Day hike with Bechtt. We took a different route to the summit. Here is the GPS track, elevation profile and pictures.

With Travis. We decided to postpone Galena Pk due to impending rain (never materialized) but hit this one plus Wilshire Mtn, Wilshire Pk, Oak Glen, Cedar, and Birch Mtns. The ascent steep and sustained but it was the descent, via a rocky, brushy gully, that was the excitement of the day.

Actually a fun little trip. I most enjoyed it once when I did it in winter and had a very nice free heel ski down.
