A sweet but short climb. Very enjoyable.
Decided to climb this instead of Potosi.

SarahThompsonCool mini-climb x 2  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Sep 1, 2007

9/1/07 - Nabbed this strange little peak on my 2nd trip to climb nearby Teakettle. Ran into chicagotransplant, shanahan96, skasgaard & company in the vicinity. Took the standard crack route. The weather cooperated long enough to make a quick climb up impressive Potosi afterwards.

5/9/09 - Nice little consolation prize when snow conditions shut us out of Potosi's North Couloir. The short 5th class pitch seemed so much easier this time despite my big boots.

make sure to do it first, so you can throw pebbles at your friends while they're wedged in the crack, unable to return fire

Climbed after Teakettle with Skasgaard, Shanahan96 and Jamie Nellis. Ended up face climbing the inside wall of the crack, its that wide!

added coffeepot to the teakettle outing. not a long climb(15-20 feet) by any stretch, but it was a challenging lead(5.5) for me.

jamie and mike climbed a line deeper in the crack and found easier climbing, somewhere in the 5.3 range. a fun add-on to a great experience!

Kiefer ThomasEastern face/crack  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Sep 1, 2007

Super short climb up a fairly wide crack. Solid rock for counter-pressure (wiggle-room) to the exceedingly small summit.
Placed one piece of pro. A little tricky getting out of the crack but no big deal. Quick rap.
They should call this "Coffee grounds" Was kinda surprised at how black the 'sand/rock' was at the base. Same people as with Teakettle.
