| We took the New Hance down to the river in a snowstorm. We camped at Hance Rapids for two nights, then up the Tonto trail to Hance Creek for one night. The fourth night was at a dry camp way out on the Tonto north of Horseshoe Mesa (Highly recommended if not windy). Our fifth day took us up the central trail to Horseshoe and then up the Grandview to our awaiting car and cold beers. | |

| This was my second time into the Canyon and and second time down the New Hance. Despite the dire warnings of this trail, I found it to be pleasant and straightforward...as well as spectacular! | |
