| Mary and I started late from Appleby Camp (around 10AM). The morning started off nicely, but thick gray clouds were rolling in as we reached the base of the route. Lots of fixed belays were visible, so we started climbing and planned to bail if needed. With two pitches remaining, it started to snow and it was already quite windy and cold. We topped out and made our way down the east ridge back to camp. After that, Mary wanted nothing more to do with the Bugaboos (and alpine climbing in general), so we hiked out and went to the hotel in Golden. |
