Date Climbed: Jul 25, 2008

This is a great half-day mountain with some excellent scrambling and exposure on the northwest ridge. The views of Teewinot and Mt. Owen are outstanding. Probably the most beautiful mountain view I've ever seen.

The summit has that perfectly flat rock that you can walk out on. Truly the feeling of walking the plank, except you are high on a mountain, with big air below. A very fun scramble from Symmetry saddle. One of the photos here shows the summit plank.

September '07. Good climb and sweet exposure, though only that madman below me would truly enjoy the knee-grinding travel in the couloir. Great summits, though.

cp0915Northwest Ridge (Direct)

Walt and I had a great day out. After an enjoyable slog up the Symmetry Couloir, we directly climbed the northwest ridge (low 5th) to the summit. Downclimbing partway down the ridge, we dropped south thru a notch, then wandered across an exposed ledge leading to the Ice-Storm saddle. From there, we scrambled up Storm Point's west face.

Lunch afterward, then checked my email in Jackson, then drove to Salt Lake.
