Memorial Day trip up from the Boy Scout Camp on the east side. Snow cover 1/2 the time but didn't take or need crampons/snowshoes. Bottomed the truck out at 10:00 PM the night before in a snowdrift looking for a campsite- took us 2 hours to dig it out- silly mistake. Snowed/hailed a little on the way out.

Nice TR! I laughed while reading because I could see myself doing the exact same thing you did. I thought our near death experiences were supposed to be from falling. Nice pic's of the flowers too. I got knocked down at Helen Lake on Shasta once...

This was an unusual outing, the first (and hopefully last) time I got knocked down by lightning. Ouch. Trip Report. I climbed it again in 2006 from the Boy Scout Camp located to the east, a much easier approach.
