Climbed this one one a county highpoint road trip. We hit Brian Head, Andy Nelson Peak, Bluebell Knoll, Fish Lake Hightop and Monument Peak. Now to come back with the kids
Beautiful sunset views all around from up here. The road was in good shape, no gates or any other obstacles. The mileage for the junction is correct at ~ 5.2 and it's then < 3 to the summit. Look for the sharp left turn up to the radio tower; ~ 16 miles roundtrip after leaving hwy. 264.
Very good location for seeing panorama. Date Climbed: Aug 6, 2008
This has to have been the hardest summit to reach yet, by pressing the gas pedal all the way to the summit. I decided to stop by this county highpoint after climbing Belknap and Delano further south the day before. A great area to check out if your coming back home to Salt Lake from a trip further south in the state.
Fellow SP member Dennis Poulin and myself were wrapping up a week in utah and this was about the 9th county highpoint we did. We slept in our vehicles about 5 miles down the road, just off to the side and did this summit at sunrise. We drove our trucks to the very summit and Martinized the peak (a county highpointer term for putting your foot on the very summit with out getting out of your vehicle)
