| We hiked from Two Medicine up over Dawson Pass, along the Divide to Cut Bank Pass, then down to the upper Nyack campground for night 1. Then we bushwhacked parallel to the west fork of Stimson Creek to the high basin immediately below Stimson on the east on day 2. Day 3 was summit day. We hiked and scrambled to the Stimson-Pinchot saddle, then followed the usual SE ridge route to the summit and back before returning on our possibly new approach route to camp. Day 4 was a bushwhack back to the Nyack, then back up the Pitamakan Pass trail to a camp in the basin north of Tinkham Mountain. Day 5 we hiked over Cut Bank Pass, then down the Dry Fork of Two Medicine Creek to the starting point. I'm not sure the extra two days as compared to the Pinchot Creek approach were worth it, but the outcome was great. What a great mountain! |
