Trevin ZieglerGood quick exercise run  Sucess!

A good trail to train intervals but watch out for the beached whales. They line the sides of the trail during popular times.

hiway99wFirst hike of 2009  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jan 31, 2009

I knew that this was a popular trail but was surprised at how crowded it was on a winter weekend (especially considering the weather wasn't exactly spectacular). I can only imagine how it must be in the summer. The sun broke from the clouds while we were on top and there was no wind to speak of. A pretty good day for a hike.

LCannonMany Times  Sucess!

I've climbed this many times over the years. It's one of my favorites. I've taken both of my daughters also with me. My favorite view west towards Portland with that great oak tree framing the shot.

BCJConvenient  Sucess!

This is a great weekday afternoon hike because of its proximity to Portland. Views from the top are great.

Date Climbed: May 15, 2008

My mom was visiting and I thought this would be the perfect hike for her. It was hot one and we felt it, but the views from the top were as amazing as ever. This is a classic hike and a quick trip.

SouthRakerPopular, but for a good reason  Sucess!

Aside from Multnomah Falls, this one of the busiest trail in the Gorge. Perfect for an hour or two of exercise, and good views along the way and from the summit. I've probably hiked this trail about thirty times for that very reason. It's a classic.

YEMQuick  Sucess!

Plenty of bang for the buck. Waterfalls, cliff views of the gorge and plenty of wind. Hike this in the winter on a weekday if you want solitude.

OJ LoennekerFun but crowded  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jan 6, 2004

This trail can get SUPER crowded on a nice day. It's much more fun on a cruddy or rainy day/ Less people. Even more fun with snow. From the top there are several connecting trails that can take you all the way to Larch Mountain, and back into Devils rest and the old Logging town of Palmer. I have never needed snowshoes, but I have seen people use them higher up near Devils rest. This one gets alot of use from me.

Brian JenkinsOne of my first in Oregon  Sucess!

Spring 2001 - One of my first hikes in Oregon and my first introduction to "Cascade Dinner Plates." Did the Foxglove Way version too.
12/16/05 - Went up to Devils Rest via this way in lots of snow. Good workout.
1/5/08 - After doing Munra Point with Karl, ran up about 40 minutes of this trail to get some more elevation in. Wet day but not as bad as we thought.
