Scrambling ManLonesome Indeed  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 30, 2008

Left the Born lakes trail shortly after descending into Ants Basin. Cut off some trail mileage to the lakes, added a bit of up and down but it seemed pretty quick overall. Climbed the west ridge, which offered solid footing. Awesome views of the Boulder Chain of Lakes, Castle Peak, and the Northern White Cloud peaks from the summit. There was a bit of smoke in the air so I couldn't see the Sawtooths very well. Hit Blackman peak on the way back to the car. Didn't see anyone except at the trailhead.

Date Climbed: Aug 29, 2007

This interesting peak was the 2nd peak of the day, and the start of a great ridge traverse toward Patterson Peak. The weather was perfect and I was treated to the new sport of ridge jumping. There was a small shelter built at the summit that contained a summit log.

SouthRakerRoute Climbed: South Ridge  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 31, 2004

I stayed at the Born Lakes with a couple of friends and summited Patterson the first night. In the morning we headed up Devil's Staircase and took the south ridge to the summit. The route was pretty fun, mostly class 2-3 boulder hopping. Fun peak, and a unique perspective on Idaho's highest lake.

Super DaveAwesome Loop  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 29, 2007

Lonesome was the highlight of three-peak day in the White Clouds. Climbed the southwest face, then traversed the south ridge on the way back down. We tagged Blackman on the way in, then did Patterson on the way out. SawtoothSean and I got a bit of a late start and didn’t leave the trailhead until noon, but we were rewarded with ridgetop views of the sun setting behind the Sawtooths (very cool). Did the last few miles back to the car using headlamps. Here’s a trip-report and some photos.
