pbogenGreat Quickie  Sucess!

Have climbed countless times after work... Great hike if you only have an hour or so and makes for an excellent workout due to the steepness.

WasatchvoyageCephalapod S. Ridge to Peak.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Mar 27, 2009

After a fresh storm made avalanche conditions pretty horrific for the higher summits, I decided to hit up this one. Rather than Red Butte or Cephalapod Gulch, I opted for the ridgeline on the center west portion of the mountain, as about halfway up there is a short but fun scrambling section which made the hike a little more interesting. Lot's of snow on the upper portions of the mountain.

Nice hike, close to home, becoming part of my regular training routine. A little snowy for a guy in tennis shoes, but oh well.

A fun "peak" to do because of the various routes that one can take. Good loop hikes or runs...saw some coyotes off the backside yesterday.

Good hike to do when the weather is stormy. It was snowing on the summit and then a few minutes later there was blue sky.

Hardly a peak, but it was a nice hike. From the "summit" we continued on to the top of the South Fork of Dry Creek canyon, and descended along various game trails on the north side of Dry Creek.

ScottCephilopod Gulch

Back when I was a kid, I climbed this peak at least a few times from Cephilopod Gulch.
