| Having worked 3 straight 12 hour days, I had neglected my dog and she was in need of a trip out and about, as was I. And having always wanted to hike Mahogany, and explore the Timpooneke road, we set out at 4:00 pm from home in Alpine. We got to a barricade at the end of a right fork off the Timpooneke road at 5:00 pm and decided this was as good a place to start as any. Because it is getting later in the year, and the sun is going down much sooner, I figured we needed to hurry. I summitted Mahogany and took a few pics with the flag at top at 5:42 pm. I'm tellin you, I wanted to beat the sun. And returned to my truck at 6:30 pm. Unfortunately I didn't have my GPS with me and so don't know the exact mileage, but it was a great hike, with fantastic views of Timp and Utah Valley. Will post pics soon. |
