WasatchvoyageUp White, Down Red.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 23, 2009

Decided to check this one out after hitting up the majority of the other summits in the area. Started early up White Pine, took the east side up to the ridge, then up to the peak. The early season snow proved to be fairly supportive after consolidating somewhat for a week since the last storm. The summit had a large cairn built up. Descended the west side of the summit down in between upper and lower Red Pine Lakes, then back down to the t.h. Cool peak with great surrounding views, even on the overcast day I went up there.

Great peak in a great area with good views. Ascended northeast ridge and skied down the north slopes. Awesome!

I've done this Peak 10 or so times, not counting a few days that I lapped ski runs on it. Glad to see someone else calls it lake Peak, some maps have it marked as Thunder Mountain as it is listed with John's List. I like to climb via White Pine up the north ridge, travese it to the south and descend to upper Red Pine Lake making a nice loop. The east and north slopes can be great skiing if conditions are safe, I've got a few nice ski photo's I'll attach to the page.
