| Spent two nights in the snow beneath this peak teaching some members of the Cal Hiking and Outdoor Society (CHAOS) basic winter mountaineering skills from climbing and beacon searches to snow shelter construction. We topped it off with a nice snow climb of the peak. | |

| June 29th, 2007 Early morning hike. Very windy. Sunrise from this mountain was beautiful. Brought back 35 year old memories of when my dad took me for a hike up Lassen when I was 10 years old. It was the first mountain I ever climbed. ******************************** 1972 Lassen Peak was the very first mountain I ever climbed. I was ten years old. My father took me for hike to the summit. I don't remember much except how awesome I felt when we reached the top. Little did I realize........that this was the start of my love for climbing and all that the wilderness has to offer! | |
