| On November 5th, 1981 (I remember the weirdest things), Bill Krause and I drove down Hwy 395 after climbing Mendel Couloir. He told me about the Monument but I was as blind then as I'm today and could not see it from the Highway. For years I swore I would hike up there one of these days. My better half finally took me there in May. We had the most wonderful trip. | |

| Hiked to the base many years ago and had a fighter jet buzz us. Tried a different approach next time and turned back. Third trip summitted. Fun little climb with stunning views. | |
