| Bad weather thwarted previous plans, so my brother Richard joined me for a loop in this beautiful canyon. We didn’t start until late afternoon and didn’t bring a watch in the canyon, so we really hoofed it through fast. We had to rap once, but could down or upclimb everything else without a rope. Unfortunately we had to pack some trash out of Baptist, but the rest of the loop was good. It only took us 2 ½ hours; all non-stop except for at the top of the rap to harness up. PS, someone placed some extremely poor and dangerous bolts at the big drop. Don't use them and someone should take a wrench and pull them out (they are just cheap hardware bolts that should pull easily with a wrench). | |
