Sam PageNice route, except for FRC  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Nov 7, 2009

This is a mostly enjoyable class 2+ route, with the exception of the Falling Rock Canyon stretch. Here is my trip report: Crazy for the Grovel

Date Climbed: Apr 4, 2009

Solo hike up Falling Rock Canyon, then up the long scree ramp (still 75% covered with snow)to the ridge. Lots of fun scrambling all they way up the crest of the ridgeline. Stayed on the rock as much as I could to avoid the hard snow and the brush. Ran into Miguel Carmona on his way down as I neared Ontario Peak's summit. The north facing slope of Ontario is still completly snow covered. Comming down was fast. This time I stayed in the softened snow as much as possible. Lesurely pace with timeout to chat with Miguel and lunch on the summit....car to car 7.5 hours.

Took FRC up Sugarloaf and continued on the ridge to Ontario. Scree slope up Sugarloaf was tough since we climbed in a group of ten. Dozens of foot-size rocks to dodge. The ridge up Ontario is beautiful and fun. Went to Bighorn and then Icehouse Canyon back.

I love this ridgeline. Only used it as a descent from Ontario and as a ascent route for Sugah. Still need to do the full ascent to Ontario.

A nice hike. I hate the scree ramp into FRC. Complete bummer with lots of ankle twisting. Much easier to ascend... sorta...
