WasatchvoyageGoats and more goats, to North Timp.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 24, 2009

Hit this one up from the west saddle, once reaching the summit there was a large herd of goats which didn't budge. Was able to walk right up for photos. Cool peak with plenty of great views. Moved on to North Timp, then back to Bomber, descending the east face to the plane crash site.

Crossed over and back on way to North Timpanogos but I don't follow the 200 prominence rule. It's been hard enough to adjust to the 300 foot prominence rule:) Pics and report at http://www.willhiteweb.com/index_357.htm

vanman798Got it on the Second Try  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 18, 2008

Made a push for Bomber Peak on Oct 11, 2008 via the Aspen Grove Trail, but alas the strong winds once we reached the 11,080 ft saddle turned us back. Fresh snow was falling and wind loading was previlant.

So... I went back on Oct 18, 2008 and bagged the peak. There was still plenty of snow. We went up the Aspen Grove trail to the saddle, then traversed around the west aspect of the mountain heading north to Bomber Peak. On the descent we dropped down the east aspect and hooked up on to the Timpanokee trail and headed south to the intersection of the Aspen Grove and Timpanokkee trails near the saddle. At the intersection of the two trails we caught the Aspen Grove trail and back tracked down. We started hiking at noon, and returned in the dark to the parking lot at 9:30 pm, the descent was very icey in spots.

fowweezerTraverse  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 1, 2008

Traversed across Bomber Peak (without really realizing it) as part of a climb of North Timpanogos and the main Timp summit. I climbed Grunge Couloir, then traversed to the main summit and descended the Timpooneke trail to my car for a nice long loop. I saw a lot of goats near the summit of Bomber Peak.

This ended up being a long day in the mountains, as I sprained my ankle just below Emerald Lake and had to hike out on it. This was my first true injury in the mountains, and it was not particularly pleasant, though not as grueling as I might have imagined.

seanpeckhamBomber to 2nd Summit ridge hike  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 20, 2008

We camped in Timp Basin just under the north face of Timp, and went to the saddle by the usual route, then followed a trail north to Bomber Peak and back, before going to the Timp summit and then the 2nd summit and down the glacier back to camp. Saw a herd of mountain goats by Emerald Lake that let me take close-up photos.
