Making the most of the weather Date Climbed: Sep 24, 2009
Quick up and down of Obstruction, Elk and Maiden. Though the day started off foggy, at elevation there wasn't a cloud in the sky (except some puffies over Olympus). Lovely breeze, too, and not too much haze. Perfect day.
This was an enjoyable hike. The weather was hot and there were no water sources to be found. Good thing I brought my own. I took a side-trip to summit this peak while in the middle of doing some recon and analyzing of neighboring mountain Obstruction Peak. Great views!!!
Baker and Raineir visible to the east, Victoria Island to the north and of course much of the breathtaking Olympic Range. Wildflowers in bloom this time of year, although not too many on Elk.
