First time in the area, really quite something with snow even in late June. Definitely a range to head back to for a longer stay. Loved the marmots and deer close up, with some bear sightings farther off.
Nice Wildlife Sightings! Date Climbed: Aug 24, 2009
Our friend joined my wife and I for an easy scenic hike, saw mountain beavers, several deer, squirrels and birds. Awesome views of the Olympic Mts and Port Angeles, on a nice day, you can see Victoria and Mt Baker.
Telemark skied to the summit and the descended partway down the NW ridge, dropping into the bowl just south of the summit. Hardly any snow on the South side. Overall a great day, but it would be nice if we got a bit more snow.
Beautiful views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Vancouver Island, Canadian Coast mountains, San Juan Islands and the Olympic National Park. Easy to get there, easy hiking.
