| I backpacked this with my boyfriend. We did the east rim trail to Stave Springs then to Cable Mountain. We spent a lot of time filtering water because Asa got a new water pump and was way too excited about it. It was an awesome trip. | |

| Backpacked the east rim trail with my girlfriend to Stave Springs and spent the night there. In the morning we went to Cable Mountain and hiked out that afternoon. | |

| I had to climb Cable Mountain after seeing it from Observation Point. Hiked from the East Rim trail on a cloudy day. The view down the west face is incredible. | |

| via the East Rim Trail at night, due to a very late start and very early sunset. I was pleasantly surprised to encounter a group of people camped on Cable Mountain by the cable works. The trail was very well marked, until I reached a portion of rock trail, approximately a mile before the junction of the Observation Point Trail, where the rock cairns were difficult to see at night. Total mileage from the East Rim Trail to Weeping Rock Trail head (and a 6 mile detour to go to Cable Mountain) was 16 miles. | |
