| Went up Coire Dhomhain, fording the Allt Coire Dhomhain on route to the northeast ridge of Sgairneach Mhor. No views from the summit and 80mph winds so didn't hang around to long. Carried on to Beinn Udlamain, where the weather calmed and opened up splendid views across Loch Ericht towards the Ben Alder hills. Then went to A'Mharconaich, where the wind started to pick up again. Decided to leave Gael Charn for another day, so descended back into Coire Dhomhain where the noise of the rutting stags echoed round the glen for the entire trip back to the Drumochter Pass. Cracking days hiking. |
