TwaMontanaGreat Northern  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 1, 2005

This is the one that got me hooked on climbing.
Had a crew of six that day.
It was a lot of fun.
Though the last mile down I don't think there was one of us who wasn't screaming with knee pain with each step.

Hot day in the 90s but we did it. This was #3 on my top three mountains to climb. Climbed with Vantana and SBurry.

this was the best hike i have ever done so far. i climbed it with my roommate sara and we had a blast. we fueled up on huckleberries when we took breaks on the steep way up.the weather made the experience . we did get caught in a wind storm on the ridge up to the summit. had to stop and hang on, cold but thankfully no rain. after the clouds subsided 2 different rainbow was in view in the valley below us. what a wild experience! the hike down was brutal but the pain was worth it. this will be a traditional hike. i love montana.

A great climb to take in the views of the southern parts of GNP. Climbed with my son Frank. We got up and down at a liesurely pace on this warm July day in 7 hours. Not really a mountain for those seeking solitude...we counted 27 other climbers on the mountain this day!

FlatheadJimMany times  Sucess!

Since 1999, almost an annual event. Good spring testpiece to see what kind of shape one is in. I call it a full day at the office - 8 hours is plenty of time.

I now understand why this climb, even in an area dominated by Glacier National Park, is a local favorite. Very, very nice mountain! First half of the trail is quite steep, but the trail is good, and when it levels out—which is about the time of the first view into the southern reaches of GNP—wow! This is definitely a mountain I'll do again!
