For Aeneas, I was (and many other people were) also thwarted by the locals via the standard route (which is actually legal, despite what the locals say). So I went the back way, which was great, had no access issues, and was confirmed by WDFW to be OK to use. Essentially, it was the escape route that lookouts had planned in case of a fire reaching the site. More gain but more enjoyable.

Getaway
Took a side trip from Burroughs Mountain to get away from the main path and all the other hikers. Had a nice quiet lunch with Rainier as the backdrop. The view facing the other way was also quite spectacular and I spent over an hour just taking it all in. Finished it off by helping a nervous suitor propose to his girlfriend - I "took" a picture, while he got down on one knee. Sweet. :)

Only 28?I thought it was more. I've only had one attempt fail, and that was access issues on Aeneas.
